Ham It Up! How to Start Your Own Acting Camp for Kids is a unique, tested, and fun-filled acting camp program for children, ages 8 to 15, that includes an exciting performance for family and friends. This program focuses on developing strong acting skills, while emphasizing self-confidence, self-expression, creativity, concentration, self-esteem, individual style, public speaking, and group cooperation skills.
Ham It Up! grew out of years of holding summer acting camps in a performing arts studio. The camps became so successful that each camp session had a waiting list. Although this camp program was developed in a performing arts studio, it will work for anyone looking for a fun program for kids.
Teachers with the interest, enthusiasm, and energy to lead a group of children through the activities and exercises can successfully teach this curriculum. You do not necessarily need any acting or drama instruction experience or even a background in the performing arts to use this program.
Ham It Up! offers a tested, yet flexible, curriculum so that you spend time focusing on teaching, not on research. The lessons take the guesswork out of planning, but are flexible enough to fit any situation. It is easy to understand and the acting techniques are explained in an easy to teach format.
