Half-Life of a Zealot Book

I was thrilled to discover this book online, quickly ordered it and devoured it in a few days. Swanee (Meeks at that time) became my friend when we were young wives (of clergymen) discovering our feminist tendencies while living in an international and American military community in Heidelberg, Germany in the late 70s. I was fascinated by her bubbling personality, intellectual curiosity, obvious caring interest in others and musical talents. I also benefited by participating in her first attempts at leading a feminist awareness group. We lost contact after she moved back to the US. My favourite reading genre is memoir and biography so this read was a wonderful way of getting to know the mature Swanee and to appreciate her half-life's journey even more than I had in the past. What a terrific read; one I would recommend to everyone interested in learning of someone who has learned to share her privileges and work for the betterment of society, especially of other women and the down-trodden.
