Good Comrade: Janos Kadar, Communism and Hungary
This is, for the most part, an interesting account of an american revolutionary. there is too much on his youthful and lifelong love of basketball; the first quarter of the book could have been shorter. avakian's relations with the black panthers is very interesting.
a maoist, he is critical of tibet and the dalai lama. i disagree mostly with the maoist position on this issue.
he is willing to correct the part line at many points; most strikingly regarding gay rights. he also corrects the line taken at the time of the boston busing to integrate the public schools.
an enlightening account of revolution and the goal of world communism. i wish him luck.
