Four Views on Moving Beyond the Bible to Theology Book

This book is a useful summary of how a respected group of straight, married, White, male academics see the state of hermeneutical debate about the Bible in North American Evangelicalism.

I was absolutely disappointed by the shallowness of their engagement with biblical, ethical, theological, and pastoral issues surrounding queer people. Though the statements were clear, they were also distressingly full of unexplained assumptions and poor, even harmful, judgmental language.

I am also surprised that none of these authors (save perhaps Webb) might be able to admit that Christians can disagree with Scripture on the basis of the models that they present.
