Forgiveness and Child Abuse
Extremely thorough and accessible discussion of all phases of reinforcement in behavioral psychology. Very clear explanation of the differences between punishment and negative reinforcement. (no, they are not the same.) This is a somewhat scholarly work. For someone new to behavioral psychology, start with Karen Pyror's "Don't shoot the Dog" then definitely move on to this book.
To those unfamiliar or uncomfortable with behavioral psychology, understand that we all use reinforcement daily and it's being used on us - it's how we move through the world. Learn to use it well.
