Flame of Recca, Volume 1 Book

This is the first serious ninja manga I've ever read, beside comedy ninja story like Ninja Hattori :))

I collected this series when I was in the 4th grade of elementary school. Far away behind Naruto series first released 3 years later, I already knew "Hokage" thing. Not like Kishimoto who made "Hokage" as a title of the Konoha Gakure's Leader, this book made "Hokage" as a name of the greatest Ninja Clan in Japan history. The leader of Hokage clan always the only one in every generation, who has an ability to controlling and manipulating fire element from his own body. And the most important thing beside their fire master leader is the Hokage clan made a lot of magic weapons, called "Madougu". Great power which can made the user to protect Hokage leader and clan or fighting back the enemy or clan itself, depend on the purpose of the user.

Flame of Recca is really interesting story. This story has a little twist and complicated plot. The main interest point from this Anzai Sensei's masterpiece is the techniques and abilities of every Recca's fire dragons, various ability and element of the madougus, those things made us the readers curious in every chapter. But the story itself is great! The characters, the story plots and confilcts even the comedy parts, and the most important is Anzai Nobuyuki Sensei can finishing the story completely!!

Anzai Nobuyuki made some great improvement in his art style while working this series. The first look of his art style from the begining is very silly for me and improved really better and better until the final volume! And his style doesn't change again in his next series, MAR.
