Finite and Infinite Goods: A Framework for Ethics

A modern Platonic theory of value by one of the most renowned Anglo-American philosophers. Adams contends that things are good by virtue of resembling (in some respect) the infinite good, which he identifies with God. And the ethical life consists in loving goods and contributing to their flourishing. Very insightful discussions of duty, obligation, politics, vocation, etc. Not sure how successfully Adams integrates his theory of the good with his divine command theory of obligation, however.
