Wow...well, they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions -- and for such a well-intentioned book, i was definitely in hell reading it. thankfully, it took me less than a half an hour.
a bit of explanation: seeing how prejudiced and old-fashioned many nursery rhymes are, "father gander" took it upon himself to re-write them in a more neutral and fair-handed way. a noble endeavor, where all are concerned, correct?
i guess what drives me crazy about this, and about other efforts of this type, is the forced-p.c.ness of them that is really no different than the forced-gender roles that they're trying to fight in the first place.
