So she decides to open her own boutique in her front yard to sell some of her old fancy accessories. Things are selling well. But after Wanda reserves a necklace, Nancy's sister tells her she really wants it. Although Nancy earns enough for the fan, her sister wants the necklace so much that Nancy buys it back from Wanda. When it starts to rain on the birthday party, resourceful Nancy sets up a fashion show. For a happy ending, good big sister Nancy gets the fan as well. The story allows Glasser to visually overload the single and double-page illustrations with fancy decorative details. The sketchy characters are almost cartoons, but with a cute vitality.
