A year ago, I searched the web to find unbiased reports on what truly helps students increase their vocabulary. I picked this book up at a consignment shop and I'm impressed. First off Vocabulary Instruction breaks down the how and why of vocabulary acquisition. It then shifts to learning strategies and concludes with methods to increase vocabulary consciousness.
You know you are a teaching freak when you spend your summer days reading about how to teach vocabulary. I admit it, but I'm not interested in a cure.
