Summary: This book is an alphabet book that connects every letter in the alphabet to New York State. This book shows different historical events that helped to create and shape New York. As well as giving what the represents in New York, it also gives extra information, so that the reader understands who or what the letter stands for.
Review: I enjoyed this book, but there are some things that I would change. For example, I did not like that for the letter X they said 1CX is for eXcelsior 1D. I feel like that gives children the wrong idea and possibly confuses them. I did however like that it gave more than what the letter stood for, and it gave a little excerpt that explains what happened in history a little more.
In Class Uses: 1. You could use this book to teach children about the history of New York.
2. This book could be used to teach children new history vocabulary.
