Published in 2010, this small volume still has plenty of practical information. Since there is no perfect choice when making environmentally conscious decisions, the author pragmatically guides readers to determine priorities and interests for themselves and then consider tradeoffs against this structure. For example, a person could be interested in rapidly renewable materials for flooring like cork or bamboo and accept the tradeoff of the energy required to ship such items from the country of origin.
I enjoyed this book as an informative reference and idea starter for "greening" residential spaces. Rather than being a comprehensive volume on the subject, it is a good first read as a reader begins to research the topic.
