Crazy About Cookies: 300 Scrumptious Recipes for Every Occasion & Craving
This book was the third cookie cookbook that our What's Cooking group discussed. We think this one was the best for home cooks. Instructions are clear and simple to follow. Ingredients are easy to find.
However, we didn't like that the recipes flow one right after another making it necessary to turn pages (or in the case of one participant - not realizing that there was a photo that went along with the recipe she chose because her instructions ended on one page but the photo was on the next page...) while baking. We also would have appreciated a larger font size for the ingredients' measurements.

- Honey Nut Cheerios Cookies
- Banana Oatmeal
- Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
- Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Vegan Ginger Cookies
- Bailey's Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
There weren't any cookies that we completely disliked. We were split between Meh and Really Good on the Vegan Ginger and the Pretzel Chocolate Chip cookies. We thought the Banana Oatmeal were Meh, and the rest of the cookies were really good.
Castella does a good job of sharing variations of many types of cookies as well as coming up with clever recipes...Rum, Mint and Bourbon Ball Kabobs, anyone? There are savory cookies too. The book is divided into 6 categories which makes it very accessible for home cooks year round.
