Cedarburg A History Set in Stone Book

Thought I read this years ago when I bought it. Apparently not. Very good history of the area starting with the Indians and lots of information on how German immigration and their mindset shaped the place. However, I don't imagine this would be of much interest to anyone who isn't from the area or a well known family that came from Cedarburg. I started getting bored by the end.
Knowing how Ozaukee County has become right wing crazy, it was fun to see the behavior of today's Fox News cult members mirrored in the Indian scare in 1862 which was also based on lies and misinformation. And a lovely quote by Joan Wirth at the end regarding the "white flight" out of Milwaukee to Cedarburg, "The blacks looked like they were taking over down there". Oh, Joan. Sadly being racist is something these people are still proud of. Glad I got out of there.
