A narrative of moments memorable to the author as he went from college student to Army Basic training; followed by training as a flight Navigator; then training to become a crew member on B-29s and flying B-29 combat missions over Japan in World War II. Later, there are memories of the peace-time Occupation of Japan, living there after the war with his family as a member of the newly-formed US Air Force and, while stationed there, involvement in the early months of the Korean War, flying combat as a Navigator on B-26s.
