Bride of the Dragon
Marriage of convenience set in a small, northern California town. The 22 year old, recently orphaned heroine is about to lose her vineyard in a bankruptcy when her 37 year old vigneron next door neighbour swoops in with a business proposal: marry him for a year so he can get elected mayor and have access to her hot bod, then she can have her vineyard back with all debts paid up.
It was okay if you leave your logic at the door and don't mind hero spending all his time with his "friend" the OW, the woman who supposedly jilted him for another man shortly before.
What saved it was a heroine with a backbone who wasn't afraid to stand up to OW or her husband in a cool, dignified manner despite her inner turmoil. Other than that, it was a very flat story. Author didn't even exploit the possibilities of a gorgeous California vineyard setting.
