Bobbie Faye's Very (Very, Very, Very) Bad Day

My first Bobbie Faye book was "Girls Just Wanna Have Guns," which I liked a lot.
I expected I'd like this -- the kickoff to the series -- just as well. I didn't.
The pace here was too frenetic.
Bobbie Faye's personality and humor are just as vivid and distinctive, but I just didn't care all that much.
And the Trevor-v.-Bobbie-Faye love buzz was much more sexy in the "Girls Just Wanna."
I found myself skimming, just following the plot, due to an excess of dangers and near misses. Analogy: this was for me the book equivalent of watching a hyper-high-action movie, where I zone out because there're just too many special effects.
