Battle Club, Vol. 6 Book

The wacky series comes to an end in this volume with lack-lustre finality. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that some of the grander themes from other volumes didn't end up here - all of Tamako's history and special Kiai powers seem to get a bit forgotten.

This volume seems more focused on taking up pages than actually continuing the abstract and comic nature of the series so far. I mean, what's with the random story about saving some dude's Soba shop? Why is there a ghost at a pool all of a sudden? Shiozaki may not have made a whole lot of sense before, but this book takes the cake.

Unfortunately it hurts the series though, as it stops being a random romp through bizzarre-town and turns into something nonsensical and confusing. Overall the series is worth it, but this one entry could have been so much better.
