Art of Satire: London in Caricature Book

As I didn't see the original exhibition this book was based on, I don't know what I was expecting, but I found the whole thing a bit of a disappointment. The title promises rather more scope than what is actually delivered. The art reproduced in the book is mostly from the 18th century, and much of it is so small that the text on the drawing cannot be read. I had been hoping for more of an analysis of political satire, or works past 1810 or so, but the last 200 years are skimmed over very lightly (especially the last century), and the politician in satire/caricature is largely ignored, surprisingly. The book's text is unremarkable, and increasing numbers of errors appear the further into it you read.
