Aquinas's Summa: Background, Structure, and Reception
I highly recommend this for someone just beginning to make progress in Aquinas' magnum opus. It provides the reader with enough context and global information to keep him or her from getting bogged down in the voluminous, intricate text. It is not a book report, like Kreeft's Summa of the Summa. The concluding portions on the reception of the Summa are interesting, but less crucial.
