The work of eighty-eight poets and photographers is presented in a 172 page book, featuring original art on front and back covers by world renowned Pittsburgh painter Philip Pearlstein. Included among young, emerging artist are acclaimed poets Gerald Stern, Jack Gilbert, Ed Ochester, Toi Derricotte as well as Patricia Dobler and Sue Saniel Elkind (both now deceased), and photographers Aaronel deRoy Gruber and Andrea London. "The Anthology is an exhibition of the considerable talent of Pittsburgh," says editor Judith Robinson. "Artist who happen to hail from our hometown, and as such are heirs to the unique history of the area, so well known for it's lively and diverse people, its geography, its dynamic culture, and its essential role in American life; also here, and tremendously valued, are those who have chosen to become part of the scene." Editors are Judith Robinson and Michael Wurster, both Pittsburgh poets and teachers. They are active in many poetry groups and are scheduling readings throughout the year.
