All Century Team Book

For more than 100 years, baseball has been the one constant in the American cultural experience. In the 20th century the game has continued to connect generation to generation, despite the country's otherwise dramatic social evolution. With physical demands both unique and extreme, baseball has long divided the good from the great on the basis of performance over time. This historical and statistical analysis separates baseball from all other sports and plays to the calm rhythms of the experience itself.

In the summer of 1999, Major League Baseball and Mastercard International distributed more than 35 million ballots to fans throughout North America. Of the more than 15,000 players who wore a big-league uniform in the 1900s, only 100 were deemed worthy of All Century Team consideration. In the end, only 30 were named to perhaps the most prestigious "Team" in the History of sports in America.

The All Century Team book captures the depth and breadth of the greatest players of the last 100 years through more than 300 photographs from the world's best baseball photographers and 216 pages of historical and original statistical analysis.

The photography includes dramatic panoramic images, stunning game action shots that span more than 90 years and portrait of players such as Babe Ruth, Ken Griffey Jr., Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Mark McGwire, Yogi Berra, Jackie Robinson, Sandy Koufax, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and Pete Rose.
