Good intro to thinking like a philosopher. In the first couple of chapters Kiernan-Lewis stays fairly neutral, towards the latter parts of the book he gets more specific, offering controversial definitions for some terms. Nevertheless, Kiernan-Lewis will provide the budding thinker with some good tools and conceptual distinctions needed to get you started on your philosophical journey. I do wish philosophy was like how the author describes it in chapter 1. That all ideas have a fair shot, each one should be given an equal hearing, and the acceptance of arguments weighed according to objective standards. yet, especially if you're a theist, you will quickly find that this is not the case!
