Advent Phoenix
What I really loved about this book was the characters. I felt the author had a good feel for who they were and how they would react with each other.By chapter 3 I was worried that one of them wouldn't make it to the end of the book. I don't usually worry for characters but this book had a way of taking what you think is going to happen and turning it on its head. I found that to be true for most of the book.
I really liked that I didn't know what was about to happen next. This book was more unpredictable than most of the SF I've read lately, although it did have a bit of a Star Wars feel to it.
The tension between the characters was well done. One character in particular was constantly misunderstood, but she did things because she wanted to stick to what she thought was right even if it meant everyone thought she did something terrible.
On the downside it felt like it could use a little bit more development when it comes to the aliens and some of the description of different places.
All in all I found it to be a very enjoyable book. I totally plan to read it again sometime.
