Accountable Leadership: A Resource Guide for Sustaining Legal, Financial, and Ethical Integrity in Today's Congregations Book

I did have a couple questions after reading this book. First, do you really want a business man as the leader of your church? There has been a growing concern of using business leadership practices in the church. The two are simply too far apart for the same leadership practices to work in them both.

Second, do you really want to learn leadership practices from a man whose major leadership role ultimately failed? The ending of the book was such a let down. I hate to end a book on a down note. The author should have left the reader feeling energized ready to take on the tough task of leadership, not fearing the task at hand.

Last, is leadership really like a train? The analogy seems too cut and dry. Too simplistic... Leadership is messy. Leadership is an art. Leadership is character... The book itself may have been a little too simplistic. I thought the author could have gone much deeper into most chapters. It was almost an overview of leadership...

However, I did find the fifth chapter to be very interesting. The author did a good job of illustrating different communication types. I tought this was the best chapter of the book.

Overall a good first book for someone interested in an overview of leadership skills.
