A Child and a Monster Book

Stomach pangs of hunger, thirst, her ribs so sore when she breathes, locked away in a room the child in this story lives in fear. She rocks in the corner, hugging her legs, afraid to sleep in case the Monster opens the door. She can still see the evil eyes and hear the voice: "I'll show you little girl."

This little girl was only two years old when it began and it never stopped. Through the years, she was tortured, beaten so bad, bruises, slashes on her back and legs—it was a well-kept secret through intimidation and fear. The really hard part to digest is that her family, neighbors, and friends watched and never reported it.
Children are helpless, they can't fight back. They need us to reach out and help them.
