World youth Report 2005 : Young people today and In 2015 Book

Almost half of the current global population is under the age of 25. In response, the eight Millennium Development Goals and the UN's World Programme of Action for Youth relate to the present and future well-being of young people and children. This progress report describes their current situation in terms of global trends in education, employment, hunger and poverty and globalization, the dimensions and policy implications of young people in poverty, including policies and programs for poverty alleviation, chronic poverty, trends in the environment and leisure-time activities along with participation in decision making, inter-generational relations, information and communication technology, the impact of global media on youth culture and youths' active role in society, and youth at risk, including the gender dimensions of youth affected by armed conflict.
