Empowered Parents: Putting Faith First Book

Mahler is an engaging writer and he makes a good job of interspersing his own experiences living alone for several months with the history and philosophy of solitude as a spiritual endeavor. While I did not connect to Mahler very much on a personal level, I am deeply appreciative of the extensive resources he provides for his readers, both in the form of quotations and in a list of sources at the back of the book. For anyone interested in solitude as a path to personal growth or spiritual experience, this book will likely prove quite helpful, if only as a starting point for further exploration.
