About the Author

Michael Fairchild is the world's most widely read Hendrix scholar. Employed from 1989-1996 as the writer and consultant for the official Jimi Hendrix production company in Hollywood, CA., Fairchild's lengthy booklet notes, included with 14 officially released Jimi Hendrix CDs from MCA, Warner Records, and Polydor, are well known to several million readers worldwide. Fairchild also wrote the booklet text for Atlantic Record's 1994 Woodstock Diary CD retrospect of the 1969 festival, and he is the originator of the 1992-1995 Jimi Hendrix Exhibition World Tour. While working for Harper Collins on the 1993 book, Cherokee Mist: the Lost Writings of Jimi Hendrix, Fairchild grasped the vision of the Rock that Hendrix, the World Shaman, was fighting to communicate.
