Governance: An International Perspective Book

Editors Denis and McConnell (both: Krannert School of Management, Purdue U.) collaborated on a survey article for the J. of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and out of that effort grew this two-book set reprinting that paper along with 35 others. Selected from sources such as the J. of Financial Economics, J. of Political Economy, and J. of Corporate Finance, among others, most have an empirical orientation. Arrangement is in sections on boards of directors, executive compensation, ownership and control, ownership change via privatization, the external control market, legal systems and corporate governance, and financial markets and economic growth.
