An insider's view of the utterly intractable Arab-Israeli conflict, a snapshot of of bone-marrow hatred, of many kind and generous people caught up in an intractable cultural upheaval. Unfortunately, the kindnesses do not scrub off the stain of despair I felt at book's end. If people's claims against each other are all based in untestable, unalterable, unprovable things, there is no foundation for building a ladder out of a very deep pit.
Tarabay wrote the book at the ripe age of 25, and it reads at times like a college term paper.
