The Chicago Manual of Style had humble beginnings, as a single sheet of fundamental typographic principles that was created in the 1890s by a proof-reader working at the University of Chicago Press. The first book of style was published in 1906, and in August 2010 the sixteenth edition was released.
This manual is based on the most current Chicago Manual style book (16th) to provide students with a quick reference. Unlike many manuals that merely tell students how to cite books, periodicals and videos this manual takes it a step further and shows how to cite Twitter, Facebook messages, Blog comments, PowerPoint Presentations, and more.
