Statutory apartheid and the Christian right, in the U.S.A., provided the tender that set off a cultural revolution. Ozay Broussard rode a wave of upheaval as a civil rights and progressive activist, a Vietnam war objector, fleeing to Mexico; later going to Cuba to break the travel ban. To survive, Ozay manages to get a degree in engineering. He reels from work-place bigotry, and finds a contracting niche, where found a new kind of freedom--economic.
After two kids and failed marriage, and ex-girlfriend, Marina James, Solicits his help to find her disappeared ex-husband, Lenny James--businessman/activist. It's found out the t Lenny is hooked up with northern California American Indian activist, in a plot to bomb a power station. Ozay and Marina discover an FBI informant involved and try to diffuse the plot.
After the Lenny James episode, Ozay moved to Marin County as planned. He stumbled into a small coastal community, steeped in respect for the environment and intent on stopping housing development. Here he found organic and cannabis farming coexisting. Ozay saw an opportunity to cash in on the latter. he bought a piece of property and launched a cannabis production operation. What was a complicated choice for him became more so when he met Sister Margaret, the manager of the town's Dominican Sister's Retreat. Sister Margaret had devised a plan to grow cannabis for Christ and needed Ozay's skills.
