From the poster and cover of vol. 1, I thought I had figured out the yaoi element: the innocent schoolboy and the warrior. Except as the story unfolds, the schoolboy is a warrior and the warrior is a schoolboy. It's much more violent than anything sexy or passionate or romantic, much more "Gundam Wing" or "Lord of the Flies" than yaoi. There are two little wisps of yaoi pairings and we'll see in vol. 5 if either of them figures into the resolution.
