Pirate's Prize Book

This was a good read, different from those I'd been reading lately so it held my interest. It does have a christian theme that repeats itself throughout the story, for some that would be a distraction from the story itself, I don't mind it.

It's a small little novel under 200 pages, a Heartsong Presents book.

From the back of the book I'm cheating because I've been sick and have burned through a couple of books without remembering everything and putting it here before picking up the next:

Is there any way to escape from a pirate ship?

Angelina de la Fuente Delgado, the pampered daughter of a wealthy merchant, is on he rway home from a trip to Spain when her ship is attacked by pirates. The brigands capture her and her aunt and steal all of the merchandise on the ship. After forcing most of the crew to walk the plank, they sink the vessel into the Atlantic.
Brian O'Doule, who is secretly in love with Angelina, is also kidnapped by the pirates. Driven by feelings of guilt for not preventing the disaster, he does everything in his power to protect the women and to find a way for them all to excape.
Will Angeline ever see her home and her beloved father again? Or will she be forced to marry the fierce pirate captain, Etienne Badeau?

Note: The book could have been expanded a bit to tell of the journey the fellow Brian went on to get help. It may have lent more interest to the final part of the story, but again, I'm sure the author had to keep the book within a certain number of pages in order to meet editors requirements for the book. They do have page restrictions etc., from my understanding which explains why some books are wrapped up rather fast and finished. This one did wrap up all the ends wrather well without telling the ending, you know what happened to everyone by the end of the story.
