My son and I read this book as a part of Sonlight's P4/5 curriculum. This is the third book we've read by Robert E. Wells and I am in love with his books. He has this wonderful way of taking complex science and mathematics concepts and making them accessible to preschoolers and young children. My son has also greatly enjoyed reading them. In What's Smaller Than a Pygmy Shrew? we are introduced to the world of the impossibly small. We are introduced to the Pygmy Shrew, a very tiny mammal, and from there we are taken on a journey to learn about bacteria and cells, molecules, what makes up a molecule, and more. Like Wells' other books, the illustrations and style of writing engage preschoolers, but the books are so fascinating that older children and adults will also enjoy them. I am so glad we've added this and other titles by Wells to our homeschool library.
