I am very careful with books like this. When an author starts talking about God revealing himself to us, I get wary. However, with a background in theology and a studying the science of dreams, this author had me by Chapter 4. I ended up skimming some of the theological talk, but the science and the sensibility of the rest of it made a lot of sense to me. With so many verses about sleep and dreaming in the Bible, it just makes sense that God can use our sleeping moments to reach us. For many of us, that is the only time we enjoy that stillness needed to hear God. I will be more aware and open to the possibility of messages in my dreams now. I am glad, too, that the author repeatedly warns the reader not to go too far in spiritualizing dreams, and makes a case that the majority of dreams are natural ones from our thoughts and life events.
