Dear Amy Ferris,
I enjoyed your book, especially the Epilogue where you talked about your childhood and some bittersweet moments spent with your dementia-ravaged mother. My mother also has dementia. I was surprised to learn that you have dragged out, profanity-laced, screaming fights with your husband, Ken. I have those kind of fights with my husband, too, once in a while. It is comforting that a sophisticated, big city girl such as you also has bouts of insomnia and fear of spooky noises at night. This reassures me that I am not alone. More to the point, your book gets to the heart of the anxiety that shadows everywoman. There is, however, one terrible error in your book. A possum is a cute little critter. It is not rodent-like or scary. It's a marsupial. Except for that one small detail, your book really rang my bell.
