The One Earth Herbal Sourcebook: Everything You Need to Know about Chinese, Western, and Ayurvedic Herbal Treatments
I bought this book after doing an exhaustive search for a truly complete medicinal herb guide. I found out that the latter really doesn't exist. I settled on this guide and have been modestly happy with it. The author includes many herbs from the Chinese and Ayurvedic pharmacopeia and fewer from Western and Native American traditions. He also terminology that is specific to Chinese medicine, rather than choosing descriptions alligned with actual physiology. Still, it is one of the most extensive herbal guides I have found and he cites research on each herb. In addition, there is an extensive medical guide which is very helpful.
If you approach herbal medicine from an Eastern perspective, you will likely appreciate this guide more than I did.
