About The Author
A fourth-generation Texan, C. Richard King received degrees from the University of Oklahoma and a Ph.D. from Baylor University. His writing reflects his appreciation for his native state. His first book was Ghost Towns of Texas. His biographies of noted Texans include The Lady Cannoneer (the story of Angelina Peyton Eberly), Victorian Lady on the Texas Frontier (the story of Ann Raney Coleman), and Susanna Dickinson: Messenger of the Alamo. He edited Marion T. Brown: Letters from Fort Sill, 1886-1887 and Before Old Yeller, an anthology of the early writings of Fred Gipson.
