Touring Guide to Colorado's Scenic and Historic Byways Book

Coloradans and out-of-state visitors enjoy touring the state's high passes, tumble-down mines, and ruins of ancient cultures. Twenty-one of Colorado's most alluring road tours, designated "scenic and historic byways," are described by Rocky Mountain News writer Joe Verrengia in this user-friendly guide. Tours include the airy Mount Evans highway to the top of the 14,000-foot peak, and the exhilarating San Juan Skyway with its stretch of "Million Dollar Highway." Verrengia provides overall distances, road conditions, and special sights for each tour, and also reveals each area's unique geology, history and recreational opportunities.
