I read this many years ago and don't remember much. I should reread it someday. In the meantime, here are my notes:

Then in class the professor seems to have talked a bit about how the text reflects the tragedies of Comenius' life: the loss of his wife and homeland, the trauma of religious wars, shipwreck.
