This was a very interesting non-fiction picture book about animals that held political positions of leadership throughout history. For example, there is a story about the small town of Guffey, CO where, in 1988, the residents elected Paisley to serve as mayor. Paisley happened to be a cat. She served for three years and was replaced by series of cats in the following years. All the stories are true and told in a humorous way. A bibliography is included. I think this would be a great book for students with an interest in history. Recommended.
