This is obviously a very old strategy guide to a very old game, but seeing as I've recently started replaying the Myst series I've had to dust it off my bookshelf again. I love this walkthrough because it's split into two parts: the "journal," which is a soft guide through the game (written in actual journal entries), and the actual "guide," which walks you step-by-step ("1, 2, 3...") through this incredibly complex and puzzling game.
(Seriously, did ANYONE complete the mazerunner in the Selenitic Age without a guide? Anyone? Bueller?)
The "journal" is just that -- a fictional journal-like account of an everyman sort of person who observantly makes their way through the ages of Myst, complete with snappy commentary. It's a great guide for those who don't want a literal walkthrough, but more of a gentle nudge here and there instead of being outright spoiled. It's also a nice read just as a standalone novella.
My version of this walkthrough also came with a full-color Myst map, but sadly, I'm unable to locate it. Still, when this game was THE biggest-selling game of its time, this was THE go-to strategy guide, and I still enjoy using it after all these years.
