How to Be Like Mike: Life Lessons from Basketball's Best Book

This book was a biography about the legendary athlete that is Michael Jordan, who famed the country with his gravity defying dunks and taking off from outlandish spots of the courts. Captifying the crowd with his multitude of moves, and his ability to perform in the ticking final seconds in the most crucial games. He was so loved that a Denver Nuggets broadcaster during the same time Michael played said; “My wife named a cat after Michael” (Williams 54). If that doesn’t show how lovable Michael was, than nothing does.
I personally very much liked reading this book, being born in the 21 century, I was not able to witness the prime Jordan. I really enjoyed learning his methods focus and rituals. Michael shaped his indignity being able to zone out the exterior, and solely focused at that certain moment at the certain. He was amazing at focusing at the now, and not the past or the future. Jordan could've been swayed easily with all the money, all the fame, and the love. But his family and his teammates kept him on the straight and narrow. He had many turning points in life from being born in New York and raised in Chapel hill, Chapel Hill with Dean Smith, and to his amazing NBA career. I personally recommend this book to all athletes, because it gives great incite on how to focus on the moment, and bring the best out of yourself. He would vision himself in the game before the game would start, Pat Williams said “After Georgetown- North Carolina title game in 1982 where Michael hit the winning shot. Mj said “I could see myself hitting the shot. I could see it on the bus, on the way to the game.”
