Cortege Book

A lot of these poems remind me of early Mark Doty, who is one of my favorites, so I am so on board. (This makes sense, since they were both gay men of a certain age writing at about the same time.) A lot of frankness regarding sexuality and the body, too, which I also really appreciate. I often feel as though I don't quite "get" everything I'm supposed to from the poem, but that's okay, as long as I get something! (They often feel as if they were written for someone or about someone specific, and I'm just not privy. But again, as long as you get something from it, that's all that matters in the long run!)
