The book begins with a chronology of events revealing the insurance fraud, use of nonapproved fertility drugs, unconsented transfer of eggs, and other wrongdoing at the clinic. The authors interviewed major players in the scandal and reviewed newspaper and journal articles, court case transcripts, and some UCI documents.
