Decades of Caring: The Big Sister Story is a record of the trials, errors, and accomplishments of an organization of Toronto women who have carried a torch for youth through good years and bad from 1912 to the present time. The author has endeavoured to set out those facts which have shaped the growth of the Big Sister Association from a small group of concerned women, inspired by th emotional concept of being a Big Sister to socially deprived young persons, to the present day organization which sponsors the many faceted youth agency, Huntley Youth Services.

Born in Tavistock, Ontario, Helen Caister Robinson was educated there and in Toronto, where she now lives.

An active member of the Canadian Authors Association, the Toronto Women's Press Club, the Writers' Union, Canscaip (the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators, and Peformers), and the Big Sisters' Association. Her numerous articles include contributions to the Canadian Children's Annual, Canada, and Your Home.

Mrs. Robinson's special writing interest is making both Canadian history and natural history come alive for young adult readers, and Mistress Molly reflects that interest.
