In this book the foundations of a new rigorous theory of field, provisionally called the vacuum field theory (VFT), have been laid. It rests on two axioms: of the inactive state and of the active state of vacuum. By applying the first vacuum state, new expressions for the transformation of spatial coordinates, time, and relative speeds between two inertial reference frames of which one is at rest with respect to vacuum, are obtained. The covariance of Maxwell's equations with respect to this transformation has been proved. In Newtonian space the laws of classical celestial mechanics are specified based on the active vacuum axiom and mechanics of VFT. Theoretical results obtained in VFT coincide with all experimental research. Four new results are obtained. The nearly circular orbits of the closest orbiting satellites of planets' confirms VFT.
