Dick and Jane Don't Live Here Anymore: Trends in Georgia Education from 1971-2008 Book

I love this book's simple and fun way of teaching children about classical music. Its only problem is that it continues to perpetuate the idea that only men can compose music or conduct an orchestra. As my 8-year old said on the Orchestra page: "where are the girls?" So, I'll be teaching my girls about famous women in music (from Hildegard of Bengen, to Fanny Mendelssohn, to Clara Schumann, and many more.) We need to start celebrating these women who surmounted all the odds and achieved relative fame doing something that was considered the domain of men alone, in their time and still today.
